Weather
We suggest checking
current conditions
and
seasonal weather averages
for Charlottesville on
the Weather
Underground and similar web sites. While snow is
not unheard of in April in Charlottesville, you are more
likely to expect mild daytime temperatures. Average
highs and lows for April are 69°F and 45°F
(21°C and 7°C), respectively.
Recreation
In town: attractions include a rich variety of cafes,
restaurants and bars, 26 movie screens, at least 2 theater
companies, an orchestra, light opera, art museums, and
numerous visiting speakers, musicians and artists, many of
whom are brought to town by the university. In addition,
Charlottesville is known as a mecca for golfers. Out of
town opportunities range from touring historical sites and
estates, driving in the rolling countryside, visiting
Virginia wineries, biking, hiking, camping, paddling,
fishing or scenic driving in the Blue Ridge Mountains,
both in and outside of the nearby Shenandoah National Park
(1/2 hour drive from downtown).
Here is a (necessarily incomplete!) list of additional
resources and sites of interest for visitors to the
Charlottesville area.
