Description

Part of the "Tunable Filter Bank" card for the ALMA correlator.  It was designed, fabricated and tested by Alain Baudry's group in Bordeaux and supplied to the NRAO correlator group in Charlottesville to integrate into the ALMA correlator.  The large silver chips, labeled Altera Stratix II, form the heart of this board, a bank of digital filters that is used to set the bandwidth analyzed by the correlator.  These are not custom chips; they are commercially available field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) whose program is designed by the final user.
