Planetary Nebula NGC 6543
Description
This is an image of the radio emission from the planetary nebula NGC 6543. The intensity of the radio emission is denoted by color, whcih ranges from red (brightest) to blue (faintest). The effective angular size of the array's beam is shown in the inset. The radio emission is thermal in origin, and the main features of its distribution closely resemble those of the optical emission.
VLA in hybrid configuration using 12 antennas. Resolution 0.79 x 0.85 arcsec. Bandwidth 50 MHz. The range of hour-angle coverage was -5.3 to +7.8 hours. The clean algorithm was used.
