Meteorology Series
Description
This series contains information about Reber's Hawaiian meteorological research, 1941 through 1958, prior to and while living in Hawaii. Locations he studied are Honolulu, Mauna Koa, Mauna Kea, Kole Kole, and Haleakala. Included in the series are charts, graphs, notes, data, newspaper clippings, reprints, journal cuts, correspondence, maps, and photographs. Reber studied altitude, rainfall, clouds, thunderstorms, windspeed, and volcanoes, used Geological Survey Climatological Data and Summaries, and retained his original data on thermograph charts, microbarograph charts, and hygrothermograph charts. Reber’s original arrangement of the collection has been retained. Box and folder titles used are the titles Reber used, and individual folder contents lists have been created and filed at the front of each folder.
