Bracewell Sundial Sidereal Time Markers
Description
Sample sidereal time markers for the radio sources Cassiopeia A. Cygnus A and Centaurus A. The sidereal time at which the disk would fall in the gnomon's "radio shadow" is indicated beneath a drawing of the traditional constellation (and its brightest stars) in which the source can be found. The exact location of the radio source within the visible constellation is indicated by a plus symbol. Each stainless steel disk is bordered by a beveled "rust bloom" steel border.
